PACCAR Technical Center and Tulips Tour

Open only 1 day a year to the public, you’re invited to visit the PACCAR Technical Center. Fun awaits, and you’ll have a few hours to explore on your own inside this secured-access truck testing facility.  Climb inside Kenworth trucks, see how they test windshield resistance, and see automated door slamming equipment as they run tests.  Fun and lots to see and do!  Hot dogs and other quick foods available for lunch, or bring your own.

You’ll also be right in the middle of the Tulip Fesival in Skagit Valley. Here you’ll visit both  major tulip flower bulb producers, Tulip Town and Roozengaarde.  The largest bulb growing area in the Unites States, it is beautiful when the flowers bloom.  With early, mid, and late blooming bulbs (all within a few weeks) you are sure to see flowers in bloom (but Mother Nature decides).

Date:  April 8, 2017
Price:  $89 per person plus tax

You receive a comfortable ride via coach, you’ll have an on-board tour guide.  Snacks and bottled water included.  Box lunch from Ingallina’s available for advance purchase for $20, or purchase food at either of the tulip farms or at the PACCAR Technical Center.

Another super bonus is that you get dropped AT THE FRONT DOOR of both tulip farms, and GET RIGHT IN.  No waiting in lines, no parking and walking issues.  Fast, easy, convenient!

This PACCAR Technical Center and Tulips Tour begins in the Seattle area with 3 convenient pick up locations: Star Lake Park and Ride, downtown Seattle Grand Hyatt, and Northgate Park and Ride.

Step on Guide Services

Hi today!  I usually post flyers showing current trips and tours.  Today I thought I’d share that we also offer step-on-guide services to anywhere in Washington state. A step-on-guide is a person who literally ‘steps onto’ your vehicle and tells you information. We  have a lot of knowledge of the region and experience traveling throughout the NW.   If you have a group but not sure what to do, let us help.  We have great Seattle area tours and statewide opportunities, day trips and overnight excursions.

Summary – Chehalis Garlic Festival

Chehalis Garlic Festival and Craft Show – August 25, 2012

What a hoot!  Garlic ice cream, garlic peanut brittle, garlic fries.  Even garlic beer!  We checked out the food vendors, who did not disappoint once again.  There were many vendors selling garlic sauces, jewelry, wind chimes, breads, and crafts of all kinds, such as kitchen towels and mitts.  There were two garlic farmers there this year, and we -of course- all took home a nice bulb of fresh garlic to plant or eat.  We saw Pony rides and there were 2 bands while we were there.  Wine tasting was popular, as well as the plant sale and antiques building.  We needed a little more time so next year we’ll make sure to allow for all that fun!  Contact Cheryl’s Northwest Tours for your ride to the festival in 2013.

Flyers – Chief Seattle Days & Chehalis Garlic Festival

So, I’m not quite sure why the flyers didn’t post.  I’ll try again!  Tomorrow is the big day for Chief Seattle.  I’ll be there for the memorial at his grave at 9:00 am.  Seems like an honor to be welcome to Chief Seattle’s special service.  I’ll let you know how it was.

Upcoming Tours August 2012

August is here, and so is the weather!

This month we are joining the celebration of Chief Seattle, our region’s Native American Chief of the Suquamish and Duwamish Indian tribes (until 1886).  Chief  Seattle played an important role in keeping the peace during the U.S. transition as the settlers moved West across the country.  The memorial is at 9:00am at his grave site in Suquamish on August 18, then the fun festivities begin!  The events go all weekend, we will visit on Saturday, Aug. 18 and  stay to see the Pow Wow dance competition and drumming.

Also featured in August is the Chehalis Garlic Festival.  Mostly this tour is a half-day trip to lunch.  There are crafts booths,  food booths, garlic sauces, fresh raw garlic (many varieties!) and more.  The garlic peanut brittle is yummy!

See the attached flyers or visit WWW.CHERYLSNWTOURS.COM, Featured Monthly Tours.

A new Cheese Tour

We’re getting enthusiastic inquires  about our new Cheese Farms Tour, so we’re taking an interest survey.  The price will be $89 per person plus tax and will include FOUR CHEESE FARMS.  We visit Lewis County, about 2 hours away from Seattle, and we will stop at 2 cow dairy farms, one sheep farm and one goat farm.  The sheep farm also makes some cow cheese.  We’re working on an animal petting experience and we’re considering adding wine to the event.  WHO’S INTERESTED?  We’ll be traveling via a new SUV.  Also, we can go mid-week or weekend.

Feel free to comment via this post.  Cheryl
